Our Solution

Advanced water treatment

Efficient, modular and sustainable

Our innovative approach removes organic pollutants without chemicals or consumables. Scalable, energy-efficient and designed for a sustainable future.

How Our Electrodes Remove Pollutants from Water

At CiX, we apply cutting-edge electrochemical technology to set new standards in water treatment. Our systems use advanced diamond electrodes to generate hydroxyl radicals (•OH) - one of the most powerful oxidizing agents in existence.

These highly reactive molecules break down even the most persistent organic pollutants into harmless components like carbon dioxide and water, effectively and sustainably cleaning wastewater.

The Science Behind the Process

When electricity passes through our diamond electrodes, water molecules near the electrode surface are split into reactive hydroxyl radicals. These radicals target organic pollutants in the water, dismantling their molecular structures through oxidation. Whether it’s drug residues, hormones, PFAS ("forever chemicals"), dyes, or bacteria, this process effectively destroys contaminants that are otherwise challenging to remove with conventional methods.

What makes this process unique is that it doesn’t just capture pollutants - it destroys them entirely leaving no secondary waste behind. This ensures that treated water is free from harmful substances, making it safe for reuse or environmental discharge.

Our Unique Electrode Design

At the heart of this process are our diamond-coated electrodes, which feature several innovations that make them some of the advanced on the market. By shrinking the distance between the anode and cathode to under 10 micrometers - significantly smaller than the industry standard - we’ve achieved exceptional levels of efficiency. This unique design reduces energy consumption by up to 75%, lowering operating costs while improving performance.

Additionally, our electrodes are specifically engineered to work in water with low electrical conductivity, expanding their usability across a wide range of applications and industries. This makes them particularly valuable for treating challenging wastewater streams, such as those from pharmaceutical, textile, or recycling industries.

Sustainable and Chemical-Free

Unlike conventional water treatment methods, CiX systems do not require the addition of chemicals or consumables. This eliminates the need for storage, transport, or handling of potentially hazardous substances, simplifying operations while reducing environmental impact. Furthermore, our diamond electrodes are built with sustainability in mind.

They avoid the use of conflict materials like niobium, relying instead on locally available ceramics as a substrate. Combined with our commitment to short, regional supply chains, this approach ensures that our electrodes align with modern sustainability goals.

Reliable, Scalable, and Cost-Effective

Whether you need to treat 100 liters or 100,000 liters of wastewater per day, our modular systems can be scaled to meet your specific requirements. Their slimline design allows them to be seamlessly integrated into your existing facilities, with no need for complex infrastructure. Plus, individual components can be easily replaced and recycled at the end of their service life, further reducing long-term costs and environmental impact.
