Industrial processes, healthcare facilities, and households are continually introducing organic pollutants into our water systems. Even in minuscule concentrations, these contaminants pose significant risks to human health and the environment. Among the most concerning pollutants are PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), synthetic chemicals in use since the 1940s. These substances do not break down naturally, resulting in bioaccumulation in the environment. PFAS levels now exceed safety limits worldwide, and their persistence means they are virtually indestructible in natural conditions.
Currently, treating water contaminated with such substances is typically costly and energy-intensive. Many industrial methods rely on evaporating contaminated water, followed by incinerating the toxic concentrate—a practice that is both outdated and unsustainable. Additionally, industries rely heavily on process water, which becomes polluted and needs costly disposal or treatment. There is a clear lack of efficient, onsite treatment solutions that enable industries to safely use their process water in a closed cycle.
CiX is committed to closing this gap by delivering a modern, effective, and sustainable solution to eliminate these persistent pollutants, enabling industries to reuse water safely and reducing the strain on our environment.
CiX offers an innovative and sustainable approach to tackling the growing issue of water contamination by organic pollutants, including the notorious PFAS. Our cutting-edge technology is designed to efficiently remove even trace levels of harmful substances directly at the source, using advanced diamond electrode systems that break down contaminants instead of simply concentrating or transferring them.
With CiX, industrial facilities can treat process water onsite, enabling a closed-loop system that reduces water waste and promotes sustainable resource use. Unlike traditional, energy-intensive methods, our solution provides a low-cost, modular system that can scale to meet varying treatment demands without the need for evaporation or incineration. Rudi studied Nanotechnology and Materials Science at FAU Erlangen, gaining deep expertise in material development and coating technology. He’s an absolute genius when it comes to planning and building prototypes and devices, making him an invaluable member of our team. Rudi has consistently demonstrated his skills through tackling complex materials engineering and measurement challenges, as well as developing several successful prototypes.

In the last 15 Years she has specialized in diamond electrodes and the analytical methods necessary for pollutant degradation. With her deep expertise and extensive experience in water treatment with diamond electrodes and water analysis she plays an important role in our team. Driven by her passion for the technology and a profound commitment to making clean water accessible to everyone on earth, Hanadi inspires and motivates us to continually innovate and aim higher in our mission.
